Compression method

Half-size and MB-limit modes reduce dimensions if needed and keep the original format. Half-size checks each result against 50% of its original file size.

JPG / WebP output quality

Original format is kept by default: PNG stays PNG and JPG stays JPG. Format changes only when you explicitly select it. If the result is not smaller, the original file is kept.

PNG uses lossless compression by default, preserving format, dimensions, transparency and color information. Quality choices apply to JPG/WebP. Already optimized PNGs may not shrink. BMP is kept unchanged by default.

Output format and dimensions

JPG output turns transparent backgrounds white. Re-encoding may change colors and metadata. Originals remain unchanged; check the result before use.

Supported formats

Input: JPG/JPEG, PNG, static WebP and uncompressed 24/32-bit BMP. Output: JPG, PNG, WebP. If not smaller, the original file is kept, including BMP. HEIC/HEIF, AVIF, TIFF, SVG and animation are not supported here.

Need a PNG below 5 MB?

Select the image, choose the target-size mode and enter 5 MB. Standard lossless compression keeps the original pixels and color information, so an already optimized PNG may barely shrink.
