When to reduce pixel dimensions
Enter a maximum width in pixels if a website limits image dimensions. A 4000 × 3000 pixel photo reduced to 1200 pixels wide becomes 1200 × 900 pixels because the aspect ratio stays the same.
- The tool does not enlarge smaller images. One maximum width applies to all selected files.
- This changes pixel dimensions, not a guaranteed file size. For a limit such as 5 MB, use image compression instead.
- Reducing dimensions can remove fine detail, so inspect the result preview before downloading.
