Selected background remover

Paint over the subject you want to keep, then save a transparent PNG. Use this for products, several objects, or photos where automatic detection is difficult.

Your file is not uploaded or sent to a server.

Process one photo at a time. Output is a transparent PNG and source metadata is not copied. Animated images, HEIC and photos over 13 MP are not supported.

Choose a photo to begin.

Paint the entire area you want to keep

  1. Choose a photo to open the editor. Use Paint subject to fill the whole area you want to keep. Drawing only an outline does not select its interior.
  2. Use a smaller brush near edges and Erase selection to correct strokes. Unselected areas appear faded so you can still see the original.
  3. Select Save selected subject, check the result, then save the PNG. Work is not saved automatically; download it before closing the tab.

Check your result

For one small object, fill its interior with a wide brush, then tidy its edges with a smaller brush. Unpainted areas become transparent. Saving an empty selection produces a prompt to paint an area first.

This tool uses your painted shape; a click does not detect an entire object. Output dimensions match the original, but the selection mask is drawn on a preview with a longest side of up to 1000px, so edges may look softer.
