Assumptions

How it is calculated

  1. Annual salary = hourly × hours per week × weeks per year (default 40 × 52 = 2,080 hours).
  2. Monthly = annual ÷ 12, semimonthly ÷ 24, biweekly ÷ 26, weekly ÷ 52, daily = weekly ÷ 5.
  3. Hourly from salary = annual ÷ (hours per week × weeks per year).

FAQ

How do you convert hourly to salary?

Multiply the hourly rate by hours per week and weeks per year. At full time that is hourly × 2,080. $25/hour × 2,080 = $52,000. To go the other way divide the salary by 2,080: $75,000 ÷ 2,080 = $36.06/hour.

Why 2,080 hours?

40 hours × 52 weeks. It assumes you are paid for every week, including holidays and vacation. If you are hourly with unpaid time off, use the actual weeks worked (for example 50) to see real annual earnings.

Is $25 an hour a good salary?

It is $52,000 a year before tax, above the 2026 federal minimum wage ($7.25 = $15,080) and near the U.S. median individual income. After federal tax, Social Security and Medicare a single filer keeps about $43,700 (no state tax); use the US paycheck calculator for your state.

Biweekly vs semimonthly: what is the difference?

Biweekly means 26 paychecks a year (every other Friday), each 1/26 of annual pay; two months a year have three checks. Semimonthly means 24 checks (for example the 15th and last day), each 1/24, so each check is about 8% larger.
