Assumptions
- Gregorian calendar; dates before 1582 are not supported.
- Weekend highlighting covers Saturday and Sunday only, not holidays.
How it is calculated
- The date is converted to noon UTC and
getUTCDay()returns the weekday (0 = Sunday … 6 = Saturday), so time zones and daylight-saving changes cannot affect it. - Same day each month: for the selected year, the weekday of that day in each of the 12 months (last day if the month is shorter).
- 10-year view: the same month and day with the year changed; Feb 29 becomes Feb 28 in non-leap years.
Examples

| Fourth of July 2026 | 2026-07-04 | Saturday (federal holiday observed Friday July 3) |
| Birthday weekday | 1990-05-15 → 10-year view | 2026 Fri · 2027 Sat · 2028 Mon (two-day jump after the leap day) |
Common mistakes
- Pay and billing rules are set by each employer or lender. This table only tells you the weekday.
- Months where the date is a holiday are not highlighted — check the business days calculator.
FAQ
If payday falls on a weekend, when am I paid?
There is no federal rule; it depends on your employer's pay policy and state payday laws. Most employers pay on the preceding business day, some on the next. Use the highlighted months to check your policy. Federal holidays are not highlighted here — use the business days calculator for those.
What happens to a credit card due date on a weekend?
Under Regulation Z, if the due date falls on a day the issuer does not accept payments, a payment received the next business day is on time. Automatic bank drafts vary by bank, so keep funds ready a day early.
Why does the same date shift one weekday each year?
A 365-day year is 52 weeks plus one day, so the weekday moves forward by one. After a leap year it moves by two. That is why a birthday returns to the same weekday after 5, 6 or 11 years.
What about the 31st in shorter months?
If you enter day 31, February, April, June, September and November show their last day (28/29/30) with a "(last day)" note.
