Assumptions

How it is calculated

  1. Type all or part of your state or territory name.
  2. Read the general rate and the conditions in the same row. New York and Oregon have regional rates; some employers have different rates.
  3. Use the official source to confirm coverage, industry and local rules before applying a rate to a paycheck.

FAQ

Does this tell me the exact wage my employer must pay?

It is a general-rate reference. First identify the laws covering your job, employer and work location. The highest applicable federal, state or local rate generally controls. Tipped, youth, agricultural, contract and industry-specific rules can differ.

What do weekly and monthly amounts mean?

They are illustrations using the general hourly rate × 40 hours per week, then × 52 ÷ 12 for an average month. They are not take-home pay or an overtime calculation. Where a lower state rate is shown, covered nonexempt workers may still be entitled to the higher federal rate.

Why does Georgia show $5.15?

Georgia and Wyoming have state rates of $5.15. Workers covered by the federal minimum-wage requirement are entitled to at least $7.25. A state rate alone does not determine federal coverage.

Are these rates for the whole of 2026?

No. This is a snapshot reviewed September 6, 2026 using the DOL July 1 table and linked state notices. Florida is $14.00 through September 29 and is scheduled to become $15.00 on September 30. Follow the official sources for later changes.
